Discernment of Private Revelation

Claims of Private Revelation: True or False?
An Evaluation of the messages of Fr. Andrew Wingate,
a.k.a. The Trumpeter

Return to the Main List
In my humble and pious opinion as a faithful Roman Catholic theologian, the messages and claimed private revelation to Fr. Andrew Wingate, also called 'The Trumpeter' (www.trumpetersmission.com) are false and are not from Heaven. A list of reasons and examples follows.

1. False claim: that the Rapture has been occurring for years, with holy children begin taken up to Heaven in body and soul.
The Rapture has been occurring for years. Innocent children have been taken up body and soul, and await the finality of the greatest chastisement known to all of mankind. This is the "Rapture".... They will then return for the Reign of Peace (after the 40 years), incredibly pure of heart and soul, to be with the remnant church - the faithful who have survived. Our Lord Jesus Christ has shown me many children in Paradise. There are thousands of children already there.... He has also shown me many adults there. Most of them are women who are with the children. (http://www.trumpetersmission.com/messages_faqs_06.htm)

Our Lady knows that almost a million children who are in rapture must be brought back.
This false claim is an altered version of the Protestant idea of a Rapture. Both the Protestant version of the Rapture, and this version from 'The Trumpeter' are contrary to Catholic teaching and contrary to reason. Supposedly almost one million children, plus many adults have been raptured. If there were thousands of children missing, with also many adults, would not society have noticed their disappearance? Since they allegedly go up to Paradise in body and soul, there would be no bodies left behind. This claim is contrary to reason.

Also, Catholic teaching is that only Christ and Mary are present in Heaven in both a human body and soul. The Virgin Mary said to Saint Bridget of Sweden (in a true private revelation): “Know, too, that there is no human body in Heaven but the glorious body of my Son and mine.” [Saint Bridget of Sweden, Revelations of St. Bridget, p. 69.]

The Protestant idea that a so-called Rapture prevents the holiest Christians from having to suffer through the tribulation is also present in The Trumpeter's claim. He claims that such a Rapture prevents them from being used by the Antichrist and keeps them safe from the Chastisement.

But Scripture and the Magisterium teach no such thing. Scripture says: “And it was given unto him to make war with the saints and to overcome them. And power was given him over every tribe and people and tongue and nation.” (Rev. 13:7) Thus, at the time of the tribulation, the faithful are not spared from suffering through a Rapture of any kind.

The Catechism has this to say: “675 Before Christ's second coming the Church must pass through a final trial that will shake the faith of many believers. The persecution that accompanies her pilgrimage on earth.... 677 The Church will enter the glory of the kingdom only through this final Passover, when she will follow her Lord in his death and Resurrection.” And so the Church must suffer, even as Christ has suffered.

Therefore, this false claim about an on-going Rapture of children and many adults (mostly women) is false and contrary to both faith and reason.

2. The false claim that Christ will return for this generation, i.e. within our lifetime.

His FAQ section states: “The Second Coming of Christ will occur 40 years after the Three Days of Darkness.” (http://www.trumpetersmission.com/messages_faqs_03.htm). And he further claims that: “Its zenith of fulfillment will be only a few short years from now!”

This is a common claim of false private revelation, not found in any true private revelation, that Christ will return for this current generation. And, although he does not give a date, his writings seem to suggest that the Three Days of Darkness is only a few years away. Such is not the case.

Jesus will return, but not until all that has been prophesied in Scripture and in true private revelation has been fulfilled. It is not possible to fit all of those many events (e.g. from the Book of Daniel and from the Book of Revelation, and from various true private revelations throughout the history of the Church) in one generation.

Furthermore, 2 Thessalonians 2:8 says that the lawless one, i.e. the Antichrist, is destroyed by the Return of Christ. And the Book of Daniel (Dan. 9:27) give the length of the Antichrist's reign as one week of years, i.e. seven years. But this claimed private revelation says that the Antichrist is already in the world today, and that Christ will not return 40 years after the tribulation, which ends with the Three Days of Darkness. Thus, the Antichrist's reign, in this claimed private revelation, is separated from the Return of Christ by 40 years, whereas Scripture places Christ's return at the very end of the Antichrist's reign. Therefore, this false claim contradicts Scripture.

In truth, the Three Days of Darkness will occur in this generation, but the Return of Christ does not occur until the distant future.

3. False claims about the Antichrist.

The Trumpeter claims that the Antichrist is in the world today:
“Right now he is mostly in the Middle East, the Baltic, Eastern Mediterranean area because he is the one who has been mediating everything that NATO has been doing between all the different countries of the Eastern Mediterranean.”
This is the most common claim of false private revelation, that the Antichrist is in the world today.

The Antichrist cannot be in the world today, because the Antichrist only arrives, according to the Book of Daniel, after the reign of the great monarch (Daniel 8), whose kingdom is followed by another kingdom, and yet another, until still another kingdom, which is called the reign of the ten kings (Daniel 7). Then after generations when the earth is divided into ten kingdoms only and ruled by ten leaders only, the Antichrist arrives to take the place of one of the kings, and eventually to rule over all ten kingdoms for nearly seven years, the last half of this seven year reign is the great persecution of the Church (Rev 13). One can easily see that the world today is not divided into ten kingdoms only, nor have we yet had the reign of the great monarch.

He also claims: “The Anti-Christ himself, as a person, is killed a few weeks before the final days of darkness.” (http://www.trumpetersmission.com/messages_faqs_26.htm) This statement is false for a number of reasons.

First, according to Scripture, the Antichrist does not die, ever:

“And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet who wrought signs before him, wherewith he seduced them who received the character of the beast and who adored his image. These two were cast alive into the pool of fire burning with brimstone.” (Rev 19:20).

In this Scripture passage, the beast is certainly the Antichrist, because his associate, the false prophet, is referred to as the one who wrought signs before him (i.e. the beast/Antichrist). So the Antichrist does not die, but is thrown alive into the fires of Hell. This is particularly fitting because the only persons in Heaven, who have both a human body and soul are Christ and Mary. So the Antichrist and the false prophet will be the only persons in Hell who will have both body and soul (prior to the general Resurrection), because they were thrown into Hell alive. But this also means that the false prophet is a figure contrary to Mary, just as the Antichrist is a figure contrary to Christ. Thus the false prophet will be a woman.

Another error in the above quote is the claim that the Antichrist dies a few weeks before the days of darkness. The Trumpeter claims that Jesus returns in His Second Coming 40 years after the 3 days of darkness. But Scripture says that the Antichrist (i.e. the lawless one) is defeated by the Return of Christ (2 Thess 2:8). Again, Trumpeter's claims contradict Scripture.

4. The absurd claim that the U.S. will be invaded and occupied by NATO and the U.N.
The U.S. will be invaded and occupied for a period of six to seven months. It will not exceed 7 months. At the end of this 6 - 7 month time period is when the Great Warning comes. (The Warning is used by God, to stop a Third World War.) Over a third of the United States will be occupied by a foreign force (and as much as a third of the population may be dead). The foreign force will actually be NATO and the United Nations. The U.N. will invade the United States as peacekeepers! The United Nations will be a united communist force, stating that they have come into the U.S. to liberate the Americans from an occupying force. This is their plan.
To the contrary: The U.S. will not be invaded and will not be occupied. The idea that NATO and the U.N. could invade and occupy the U.S. is contrary to reason and common sense. The U.S. is a part of NATO and its strongest member. The idea that the U.N. is or will be communist is also contrary to common sense, since it has been set up as a thoroughly democratic institution.

Also, the claim that the Warning occurs during World War 3 is entirely incorrect. In truth, the Warning precedes World War 3. Also, World War 3 does not involve Russia or China in any substantial way.

5. He makes the self-contradictory claim that the Three Days of Darkness actually lasts for six days.
The 3 Days of Darkness (which actually will be 6 days) is going to be the worst chastisement you can ever imagine. (http://www.trumpetersmission.com/messages_faqs_09.htm)
This claim is contrary to numerous true private revelations, which all describe the Three Days of Darkness as being about 3 days. Scripture also refers to the Three Days of Darkness, through the plague of darkness which overcame the Egyptians in ancient times and which lasted for 3 days. “And Moses extended his hand into the sky. And there came horrible darkness in the entire land of Egypt for three days.... But wherever the sons of Israel were living, there was light.” (Exodus 10:22, 23)

He makes other false claims about the three days of darkness. He claims that this darkness is the work of evil and of the Antichrist. He associates the number 666 with the 3 days (which he claims are 6 days).

But Scripture clearly teaches that the Three Days of Darkness are from God. The plague of darkness overcame the Egyptians because they disobeyed God's order to release the Israelites. And the Israelites all had light were they were, because God favored them. Therefore, so also will the 3 days of darkness be the work of God, not of evil.

6. False claims about the great monarch.

The Trumpeter claims that the great monarch has an underground government and army (or militia) and that he has met him.
The Great Monarch is an individual who has been called the "Great Restorer." He is already in control of a very large underground government and militia in France. He is already known amongst his own organizations, but Heaven has never released his name and has kept his identity extremely confidential. I have met him only once. And another time I saw him at a distance when I gave a conference in France.
This claim is contrary to reason. There is no evidence of a vast underground government and militia in France.

It is also contrary to Scripture. In Daniel's 70 weeks of years, the great monarch is born after 7 weeks of years (i.e. after 49 years). And the starting point for the 70 weeks of years is the going forth of the word to restore and build Jerusalem, i.e. the founding of the State of Israel in 1948. If 1948 is year one, then 1996 is year 49; but the great monarch arrives after seven weeks of years (after 49 years). So the great monarch arrived, at his conception or birth, in 1997. “Therefore, know and take heed: from the going forth of the word to build up Jerusalem again, until the Christ leader, there will be seven weeks of years....” (Daniel 9:25). So the great monarch cannot be in charge of a vast underground government and militia, because he was only born in 1997. The quoted paragraph above is from 2004, when the great monarch was only about 7 years old.

7. False claims about Pope John Paul II

The Trumpeter claimed that Pope John Paul II would reveal things that would cause a great schism in the Church. Such an event did not happen.
What does the pope reveal, causing the Great Schism? Pope John Paul II will reveal the Communion of Saints as the physical Mystical Body. And he will reveal it as being the Kingdom of God in Heaven and on Earth. Before doing that, His Holiness will have already revealed that Our Lady is Co-Redemptrix and Mediatrix of All Graces.
http://www.trumpetersmission.com/messages_faqs_13.htm
First, Pope John Paul II did not cause a great schism in the Church. Second, he did not say that the Communion of Saints is the physical Mystical Body. Third, the very idea that the Communion of Saints, which is mystical, is also somehow a real physical body is absurd. The idea does not make any sense and is not found in Tradition or Scripture. And the Pope can only teach from Tradition and Scripture. Fourth, the Virgin Mary is only called the Mediatrix of All Graces in false private revelation. In all the true private revelations which mention this role of Mediatrix, she is only called Mediatrix of Grace, or simply Mediatrix. She is not the Mediatrix of graces flowing from Christ's Divine Nature directly to His human nature.

8. The odd claim that people are being bar-coded worldwide as part of the Antichrist's plan
32. Is the bar-code something to be concerned about and will it be world-wide? The bar-code is already being used in governments to mark people. We are already marking our active duty military personnel and prisoners with it. In our own country, the U.S.A., measures have been taken and are already in place to mark every citizen at the turn of the century.... The bar-code will have the whole genetic structure of the person.... The international marking of all people is extremely close. Much closer than many people would want to even think! ... The actual so-called marking of people is first spiritual. The bar-code is an outward sign of saying the people are being marked. It does not necessarily have to occur world-wide, but it is part of Matreiya's (the Anti-Christ's) plan, that all people must be marked.
To the contrary: First, it is not possible for a bar code to contain the 'whole genetic structure' of a human being, because the human genome is about 3 billion base pairs. A bar code cannot hold that much data. Second, military personal still use dog tags, they are not bar coded. Third, neither are people in the general population being bar coded. Fourth, the turn of the century, when supposedly all citizens would be bar-coded, apparently refers to the year 2000, which has passed. I don't know anyone who has been bar-coded, do you?

Again, the most common feature of false private revelation is the claim that the Antichrist is in the world today, working various evil plans. No true private revelations contain this claim.

9. False claims about the Second Pentecost

The Trumpeter claims that the Second Pentecost is identical to the Great Miracle of Garabandal. (http://www.trumpetersmission.com/messages_faqs_19.htm)

In truth, the Second Pentecost is not at all the same at the Miracle of Garabandal, nor are these two event even related. The Miracle is for this generation, the Second Pentecost is for the distant future, hundreds of years away.

Conclusion

There are many other false claims made by the so-called Trumpeter, but I will spare the reader from these absurdities. This should be sufficient to show that the messages of Fr. Andrew Wingate, a.k.a. the Trumpeter, are false and are certainly not from Heaven.
