I looked for love, and found it not
Within the richest places.
Its face was not a glamour shot
with a model’s featured graces.
It was simple,
It was true,
Devotional,
and Strong.
The love that beareth all good things
to last our lifetime long.
We live not in a mansion ‘dorned
with silver, and with gold.
This is not life without its tears,
As novels have it told.
This is giving, this is life;
In love that’s put to every test.
Holding on when there’s nothing there,
Endless work, without a rest.
And still we smile when day is done,
For we know how we are blessed
in having One who knows us well;
who graces every step.
We live for Him our earthly life,
our actions, words, and deeds--
knowing well it’s Him we serve;
the Sower of good seed.
We sow the earth with our good deeds,
in acts of love to others,
For we are all as One in him;
our earthly sisters, and our brothers.
So may we always feed upon
this Grace bestowed upon us,
and live a life that speaks of Him:
Loving, True, and Honest.
